It's Sunday, tomorrow is Monday, then comes Tuesday and . . .

Well, I have a bit of good news to share with you fine people, last night I received an email saying one of two line drawings I sent out will be selected for publication this spring. Not wishing to jinx things, I won't say which journal it is except that it's a very nice publication slanted toward the female viewpoint. They said they're still deciding between the two—both simple views of a female body with continuous line.

Big jump for joy here! Can't wait for you to see it!

Coming back back down to earth . . . I've had to reconfigure a part of the new writing project because I had too many things going on and it was getting confusing. That seems to be a recurring problem with me, I like to create not one, not two, but three or more problems/complexities in a character or plot and then try to work it all together. It's a big pain in the butt. Yesterday I thought really hard about this and decided that I didn't want to spend anymore time trying to make something work. I must get rid of the extra baggage in my stories and stick with simple. Just like my art. I hate fussy so I go simple, and that's what I'm going to do from now on with my writing.

Anywho . . . I gotta make breakfast. Oh! I wanted to say again how much I love my ongoing project Woodsocket '79. Sometimes I stop and think about so and so and I get sad for what they've been through, haha. Or I laugh at something they said or might say in a future installment. My poor Gerald Kennedy is my focus right now, he opened the book with a pregnant wife dying in his arms, and has become a recluse/alcoholic who stays up all night watching old movies. He's so real in my mind, I can almost reach out and touch him. Not sure if I'll ever have writing stuff published, but it doesn't matter, I'm so happy to have created this town and all the crazy people. It's comforting to me that they exist, at least in my brain. What will I do when I actually finish the book? I'll pour a drink, jump for joy (not at the same time), and then I'll be sad for awhile.

Oh yeah, it's finally snowing : )
