You won't believe this, but school starts up in a few weeks, although, with this heat I think they should delay it. No kid should be on a bus, or ride their bike to and from school in these extreme temperatures.
I really wouldn't be surprised if a few days were knocked if the heat continues. And . . . I'm sure my kids won't be complaining!
Since summer is coming to an end, though, what poolside novel have you been enjoying later, or plan to start reading? What do you do to keep cool?
Have a great day!

Your children go back to school really early. Some schools here still go back the Wednesday after Labor Day and others go the Wednesday before. When I went to school it was the 2nd week in September, but it was still hot and we had to wear those heavy wool uniforms. Whatever doesn't kill you, makes you stronger and all that crap.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your interview with Molly, another very nice lady. I am wishing you the best of success on your launch on August 7th. I will be reading along with many other people.
Thank you! I hope many people read it for sure! I received a good rating from my mother, which is the most important one of all. If she hadn't liked it I'd be really nervous right now. : )
DeleteThat was a good interview.
ReplyDeleteHeaded over! And I like the name of her blog, I'll have to follow :)
ReplyDeleteNo poolside here, but I am reading an interesting book: Wesley, The Story of a Remarkable Owl, by Stacey O'Brien. I love all animals and this was an opportunity to learn about a barn owl and the impact he had on his owner. I agree it is way too hot for kids to begin school. I thought school started in September, but I guess it goes on all year long now. Stay cool.
ReplyDeleteOwls are such beautiful creatures.
DeletePS I'm heading over too.
ReplyDeleteLoved doing the interview too Amy :) The book I'm reading at the moment is Joanna Trollope's 'Friday Nights' I have read several of her books. It's Hot, Hot, Hot here too after all that rain. We might go for a trip to the coast tomorrow to dip our toes in the sea.
ReplyDeleteMolly, I loved doing the interview with you. I'm surprised to hear that the heat has spread your way! I guess you can have finally break out the swimming suits now--so that's good. Have fun on your trip!
